Research and
Future Strategy
The launch of the National Churches Trust was the first step towards realizing the 5 key objectives decided by the Trust and stakeholders in the sector during 2006.
  • To improve the quality and impact of our grants programme – We are increasing our annual grants budget for 2008/09 by almost a third. Before the end of this year we will be announcing a revised grants programme

  • To develop a structured programme of new initiatives that seek to provide both practical and innovative solutions to the needs of the sector – The grants and funding programmes under consideration include advice lines, maintenance training and education

  • To develop a sustainable fundraising strategy that diversifies our funding sources and provides opportunities for innovative partnerships and collaborations – We are working on raising our public profile, a campaign for gifts and legacies and increased sponsorship. Work continues on establishing the Cumbrian project in partnership with the Churches Conservation Trust

  • To present a modern forward thinking organisation that communicates to both our traditional supporters and encourages wider engagement – Our profile-raising has a wide focus: from architecture to social history, sustainability and community use. We are creating a national photographic archive, to be available online and re-thinking our members scheme

  • To develop a staffing and organisational support structure that underpins and services the above initiatives – Two members of staff joined in 2007 and a revision of systems and process is currently underway
